With due reason. The lands surrounding Ypres and the town itself became infamous as one of three major battlegrounds during the First World War. These days the Ypres Salient is dotted with silent graveyards, commemorative museums and monuments. The fallen heroes are honored every evening with the Last Post under the Menen Gate in town.

This year, on November 11th , the end of the Great War will be remembered for the 100th time. Throughout the year there’ll be smaller and major events.
