Day 1. Arrival Amsterdam
Private transfer to your hotel. Check-in and rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2. Amsterdam
Before your bicycle adventure to start, enjoy a full day exploring the city with a real local “Amsterdammer”. In the morning enjoy a short walking tour along of Amsterdam’s monumental highlights. In the afternoon, you will visit the best museums of the city: Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. In the evening board your boat at for a private cruise with cocktails and canopies through the main waterways.
Day 3. Amsterdam – Santpoort-Noord // Around 40km of biking
Check-out of the hotel and transfer by car to the village of Broek in Waterland to start your bicycle tour. Today you’ll bike through typical fishermen villages, past windmills and along many waterways. Your destination is a beautiful country estate, a property with a lot of character located in a national park.
Day 4. Santpoort-Noord – Leiden // Around 50km of biking
While your bags will be dropped by car to your next destination, you will continue to explore by bicycle the beautiful countryside mainly through pathways crossing the coastal forests the national park with old trees, sand-dunes, wild deer and ponies. In the afternoon, you will bicycle through the flower-bulb region with endless tulip fields (season depending) and beautiful Dutch rural countryside.
Day 5. Leiden – The Hague // Around 30km of biking
Today, you will have a mix of country-side ride and urban ride. In the morning, you will continue your way down to The Hague, the political capital of the Netherlands. In the afternoon, your historian guide will leads you through the city, the wonderful Panorama Mesdag Museum and Mauritshuis to end at the beach of Scheveningen.
Day 6. The Hague – Schuddebeurs // Around 40km of biking
Bike to Vermeer's hometown Delft to visit the New Church and the Royal Delft factory, the last remaining Delft Blue pottery factory from the 17th century. Continue the old fortified town of Brielle for lunch. A short drive by car brings you to Browershaven, to discover the Deltaworks. Bike to Schuddebeurs.
Day 7. Schuddebeurs – Middelburg // Around 50km of biking
Today, you will spend the full-day in Zeeland! In fact, unless you walk on top of a dune, you will spend the entire day ‘below sea level’. The fresh wind in your face and nostrils, the view and sound of the waves in your eyes and ears. Mudflats and marshlands come and go, as you pedal to beautiful village of Middelburg. A bit more out of the wind? Your guide will adapt the itinerary to lee-side routes…
Day 8. Middelburg – Bruges // Around 50km of biking
Get ready for your last day of riding. Board on the ferry to cross the Scheldt river! Once on the other side, get back on your bike up to Sluis, another charming fortress town on the border between The Netherlands and Belgium. Stop in the picturesque Damme for lunch. Bruges is just a stonethrow away. Late afternoon hot air balloon over Bruges!
Day 9. Bruges
This morning you’ll enjoy an unexpected tour on foot of beautiful Bruges, the best preserved example of medieval Flanders. At the end of the visit, enjoy a 30min boat tour through the waterways. After lunch, a behind the scene visit of the brewery De Halve Maan you’ll be submerged in the Belgian Beer culture. End the day visiting some of the finest chocolate shops. There are over 46 chocolate shops in Bruges, so you will definitely find the chocolate you like.
Day 10. Bruges – Departure
After breakfast, at time previously arranged, meet your driver and transfer to Brussels airport to board on your flight back home.
