1. Aim of this Privacy Statement
ATLAS REIZEN/BRILLIANT IDEAS cares about your privacy and always acts in this respect in accordance with the stipulations of the Belgian Law on Privacy (Law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data) which will be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on May 25, 2018. In this privacy statement we would like to inform you on the processing of your personal data.

2. What personal data do we process?
2.1. Data that you provide us through the website
Information you give us. You may give us information about you by, even partially, filling in forms, setting up a user account or profile, subscribing to newsletters and other services, making or cancelling a booking or ordering a product, making applications in respect of job postings, uploading information on our website, putting in an "enquiry" about one of our trips, using our enquiry form or participating in one of our on-line surveys, participating in prize draws or promotions or by communicating with us by e-mail, phone or otherwise, e.g. by calling us directly. This information may include your name, email address, billing address, room preferences or special requests, phone number, guarantee and deposit information to secure your reservation, the content of any email you send to us and any other similar information. You are under no obligation to provide this information, but without it, we may not be able to provide you with some of our content, services or information you may request.
Information collected during your trip with us. We record your personal preferences and any feedback you or your travel agency may give us. Information particular to your stay may also be stored (i.e. health issues, payment difficulties, special requests, service issues). The information specific to your stay is stored in our content management system and on our server.
Information obtained from someone making a booking on your behalf. If you are entering data on behalf of another person, you warrant to us that you are authorised by that person to enter their personal data into our system, and that information you enter is accurate and correct. If any non-compliance by you with respect to this provision results in any loss or damage being incurred by us, you may be required to compensate us in respect of such loss.
Information about you obtained from third party sources. These third party sources may include credit reference agencies and other third parties. In addition, in preparation for your trip, we may collect your photograph from publically available sources so that we can recognise you in order to provide you with outstanding customer service.
2.2. Cookies
Our website does not make use of cookies. A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks to our browser to store on your computer or mobile device. The cookie allows the website to "remember" your actions or preferences over time.
3. Why do we process your personal data?
3.1. Data that you provide us
We will only process your personal data, in accordance with applicable law, for the following purposes:
(a.) responding to your queries, comments, complaints and requests;
(b.) managing and administering your user account;
(c.) processing your bookings or cancellations;
(d.) delivering any services, products, information requested by you, including newsletters. We may then send electronic messages at appropriate intervals to the e-mail address you gave us, which may also contain topic-specific advertisements along with editorial information on our products and services. In deciding whether or not to join such lists, please note that they are only used for internal purposes and we do not sell or rent our subscription lists to anyone. Please note your enquiries will be received during Belgian office hours and we will aim to respond to your enquiry as soon as reasonably possible;
(e.) providing you with a customised and premium service. Our goal is to provide you with a personalised customer service before, during and after your trip, whether you are a new or a returning customer.
(f.) verifying your identity, when required;
(g.) communicate with you about, and administer your participation in, special events, programs, surveys, contests, sweepstakes, and other offers or promotions;
(h.) display content on our websites, such as stories, product reviews, comments and photos, provided by you;
(i.) allowing you to participate in interactive features of our websites, when you choose to do so;
(j.) process claims we receive in connection with our websites, products and services;
(k.) handling any job application that you may make to us;
(l.) implement and enforce our general terms and conditions of business or any other agreements concluded with you;
(m.) enabling our suppliers and service providers to carry out certain functions on our behalf, including the hosting of our websites and possible booking platforms, verification, technical, logistical or other functions, as may be required, in order to make our website and services available.
(n.) administering financial operations, including credit checks and debt recoveries;
(o.) sending you personalised marketing communications and alerts requested by you;

(q.) developing and improving our websites, products and services and determining the effectiveness of our business efforts, for example, by reviewing demand for websites, products and services and user comments or other contributions; and

We also record information to comply with financial reporting requirements, including those imposed by auditors and government regulators. We may also collect certain information as required by local laws (e.g. passport number, name of all travellers including kids and partners).
4. Transfers of personal data to third parties
To maintain and improve our services we sometimes invoke third parties, e.g. developers and IT-suppliers. Where necessary for the services provided by these third parties, your personal data may be transferred to them. We conclude contractual agreements with these third parties to ensure that they only process your personal data according to our instructions and that they always meet the same degree of security and confidentiality as we do. ATLAS REIZEN/BRILLIANT IDEAS maintains responsible for the processing operations carried out by third parties.
At the request of the government, or to comply with other legal obligations, some of your personal data may be transferred to official authorities. For example, in the context of legal proceedings or judicial investigations.
5. How long do we retain your data ?
We never retain your personal data any longer than strictly necessary to fulfil the objectives for which the personal data was originally collected (see title 2 of this Privacy Statement). In addition, we delete your personal data without undue delay at your request (see title 6 of this Privacy Statement).
6. Withdrawal of your consent and other rights regarding your personal data
Regarding your personal data, you have the right to:
All requests regarding the above-mentioned rights may be submitted through one of the channels mentioned in title 9 of this Privacy Statement. If we are unable to work out a suitable solution together, you have the right to file complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
7. The Protection of Your Personal Data
ATLAS REIZEN/BRILLIANT IDEAS does everything within its grasp to prevent misuse, loss, theft, unauthorised access and other unwanted action regarding your personal data. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that your data is processed in accordance with national and European legislation and guarantee the protection of your rights. Our Data Protection Officer and Information Security Officer make sure these measures are monitored regularly and kept up to date.
8. Modification of this Privacy Statement
ATLAS REIZEN/BRILLIANT IDEAS can modify the Privacy Statement at any time. All updates and changes come into force immediately upon publication on this website. Therefore, we encourage our users to consult this Privacy Statement regularly to stay informed about the latest changes that can have an impact on you. Important changes shall be communicated through common communication channels.
Should we intend to process your personal data for purpose other than those for which the personal data has been obtained, we will inform you about these intended processing activities, their purposes and any other relevant information through common communication channels prior to the further processing.
